Common questions

Everything people ask us

How much does garage door repair cost?

It depends on the part. Springs, cables, rollers, openers, and panels all price differently, and a good company will tell you the number before touching the door. The technician inspects the whole door, gives you the price on the spot, and you approve it before the repair starts, usually in the same visit. See our pricing page for how we price each type of repair.

Do you come out and give a quote before a repair?

For a service call, no separate quote visit is needed. The technician comes out, diagnoses the door, and gives you the price right there. If you say yes, the repair usually happens in the same visit from parts on the truck. Separate on-site quotes are for new door installations and major projects like carport conversions and commercial doors.

Do you charge for a quote on a new door?

No. For a new door, a carport conversion, or a commercial project we come out, measure, and give you a written quote at no charge. That quote is the number you approve before we order anything.

Do you charge a service call fee?

For a repair there is no separate estimate visit. The technician comes out, diagnoses the door, and gives you one price that includes travel within our home area. If you decide not to go ahead after the diagnosis, ask when you call and we will tell you up front what, if anything, that visit costs.

Are you available after hours or on weekends?

Yes. Our emergency line is answered 24 hours a day for doors stuck open, stuck shut, off track, or damaged. Regular shop hours are Monday through Friday.

Can I replace just one spring?

You can, but we recommend replacing both on a two spring door. They were installed together and have the same wear. The second one usually breaks within months, which means paying for a second visit.

Should I repair or replace my opener?

If it is under 15 years old with working safety sensors, repair usually makes sense. If it is older, lacks photo eye sensors, or the motor is failing, a new LiftMaster with battery backup and smart phone control is the better value. We will price both.

How long does a new garage door take?

Standard sizes and colors typically arrive in one to three weeks. Custom sizes, colors, and glass can run four to eight weeks depending on the manufacturer. Installation itself takes most of a day for one door.

Do you install doors bought somewhere else?

In most cases yes. We will inspect the door and hardware first, and we cannot warranty a product we did not sell, but our labor is guaranteed.

What brands do you carry?

Garaga, Amarr, ASTA America, and Janus International doors, and LiftMaster openers. We repair every brand.

Are your technicians employees or subcontractors?

Our crews are Geaux technicians. Most are on our payroll, and the few who are not have worked alongside us for years and hold themselves to the same standard. Whoever shows up is trained on the doors and openers we install and is not paid a commission.

Do you offer financing?

Ask when you call. Options change, and we would rather give you a current answer than post one online that is out of date.
