Repair or replace

Sometimes it is a small part. Sometimes it is time.

Openers fail in predictable ways: stripped gears, worn trolleys, misaligned safety sensors, dead capacitors, and logic boards fried by a lightning strike. Many of these are quick repairs, and we carry common parts for the opener brands we see most in our area.

If your opener is more than 15 years old, does not have photo-eye safety sensors, or has a failing motor, a new unit is usually the better value. We will give you both numbers.

New openers

LiftMaster belt drives, wall mounts, and battery backup.

For most homes we recommend a LiftMaster belt drive with battery backup and myQ smart control. It is quiet enough for a garage under a bedroom, keeps working through the power outages we get every storm season, and lets you open the door from your phone.

For high-lift doors, low headroom, or shops, a wall-mount jackshaft opener frees the ceiling and runs even quieter. We will match the opener to the door and to how you use it.

Included with every installation

  • Removal and haul-off of the old unit
  • New rail, sensors, wall console, and remotes
  • Force and travel limits set and tested
  • Safety reverse tested with a 2x4
  • Keypad and phone app programmed with you
  • Door balanced first so the opener is not lifting dead weight
What moves the price

Straight talk on cost.

Opener pricing is mostly about the unit you choose. We will show you the options in plain language.

For repairs, the technician gives you the price on site before starting, and that price is the bill. New doors and major projects get a written quote. If you have a price from another company, send it to us and we will tell you honestly whether it is fair.

How our pricing works
FactorWhy it matters
Drive typeChain drive is the least expensive. Belt drive is quieter. Wall mount costs more and frees the ceiling.
Battery backupWorth it in Louisiana. Adds a modest amount to the price.
Smart featuresmyQ Wi-Fi control, cameras, and keypads are options, not requirements.
Door conditionAn opener cannot fix an unbalanced door. If springs are the real problem we will tell you before selling you a motor.
FAQ

Questions we hear every week

What opener brand do you install?

LiftMaster. It is the professional line from the Chamberlain Group with the best parts support in our area. We repair all other brands.

How do I open the door when the power is out?

Pull the red emergency release cord and lift the door by hand. A battery backup opener avoids the problem entirely, and we recommend one for every home.

My remote works but the keypad does not. Can that be fixed?

Usually yes. It is often a battery or a reprogramming. If the keypad has failed we can replace it the same visit.

Can you add smart phone control to my existing opener?

Often, yes. LiftMaster and Chamberlain units from the last decade can take a myQ hub. We will check compatibility.

How long does opener installation take?

About two to three hours including removal of the old unit, programming, and safety testing.
